30 June 2018 - 14 October 2018 Favignana(TP). The exhibition at Florio Museum in Favignana will be open every days in July and August (from 10.00 to 13.30 and from 17.00 to 23.30), and every days in September and October (from 10.00 to 17.00)
We relive the ancestral struggle between predator and prey, through the "death's room", the seething sea and its reddened waters with the blood of the tuna. We relive the effort to hoist tuna on the boats, the faces of the tuna fishermen plagued by salt and often revised in the same picture twice (by young and old), as if to symbolize the continuity of a commitment timeless.
Affancendate silhouettes, flashy colors, gazebo curtains painted, as clear legacy of the Arab domination in Sicily. Fruits that seems to come out of baskets, dazzling lemons, oranges, vegetables, eggplants, tomatoes and all the riches of a land kissed by the sun.
We find expressions of popular culture, seduced by the medieval carousels and hot-air balloons's rallies. In this events the color rages and you can find the flag wavers from Gubbio and Sansepolcro and also the hot-air balloons of San Zeno and Cassola.
A journey like a rediscovery of landscapes, towns and villages from Tuscanian Valtiberina to the Umbrian AltoTevere.
We see the dry ground, full of sweat of who even in old age is forced to hoe, to take a little sustenance for his family. We see faces marked by time and work, under an unreal sun, as if it were a VanGoghian landscape.
